If you just want to see characters from the show one last time, you'll have a decent enough time. It's probably tough to coordinate the schedules of so many people and I'm guessing the reason there's not many scenes with the family together stems from that. It's just I think this kind of needed that. It all felt very low stakes and there was a surprisingly low amount of family shenanigans. I'm also not sure Malcolm in the Middle should ever have a saccharin tone so I'm not sure what to think of it appearing in this a little.
